Prioritise Cellular Data above WIFI

Hi guys,

okay - My cellular data gets blindingly fast 5g speeds as I am in direct line of sight of a 5g mast on a school next to my window! Now my broadband connection has a maximum of 40mbps down and provides the WIFI at my house. My mobile currently gets 780mbps down and 80mbps up!

But if I want to use my HomePod minis or Apple TV - I need to be on the WiFi and the WiFi actually struggles to reach the attic too so it’s not great stable connectivity either where I need it. Is there anyway, I can maintain the WiFi but prioritise data from cellular. WiFi assist doesn’t seem to help, because when I do a speed test it’s limited to the broadband always.

Thanks for the help!

Okay you have left me a little confused.

There is no WiFi assist of there is? I was sure there was. BUT, I assumed WiFi assist only takes data from cellular if the WiFi internet effectively fails or is too slow, not if it is okay speed. I just want to prioritise cellular data speed as it’s almost 20 times faster.

So not sure what you’re getting at. I am not interested in WiFi assist unless i can get it to prioritise cellular speeds but you’re saying that WiFi assist is not available at all??

Sorry hope you can clarify this for me, thanks!
