Automatically playing

I’ve searched high and low for a solution and tried everything but nothing seems to solve my phone automatically playing whatever I was last listening to as soon as it connects to my car, either plugging in or Bluetooth. I’m a delivery driver so I’m constantly getting in and out of my car with my phone and it’s becoming outright dangerous having to stop it each time I get in. I need my phone app for navigation and sometimes I listen to music but I need the automatic thing to stop!! From my searching there seems to be no solution which is absolutely insane to me. But this is my last hope. Does anyone know how?? I’ve tried automations. I’ve adjusted every setting. Nothing stops it!!
