Can the 2020 ipad pro play HDR and dolby vision on its screen?

So i’m just wondering can my 2020 ipad pro play HDR movies on its local screen(not connected to a tv). The reason i’m asking is because i’ve seen lots of questions about this and i wasn’t quite sure. So for example if i go to disney plus and play a movie that’s in the ultra HD and HDR section will my ipad play that movie in HDR on its screen? Just wondering :)

Hello Ben_36.

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you'd like to know if your specific iPad model will play movies with HDR and Dolby Vision. If so, we'd like to assist and share some information with you. Please check out the resource below:

Find movies with 4K, HDR, Dolby Vision, or Dolby Atmos in the Apple TV app - Apple Support

The resource we shared, explains which format your device might be able to support. It does specify to check your device's specifications to confirm if it's able to support HDR and Dolby Vision. You can locate iPad specifications here:

Apple - Support - Technical Specifications

Select your correct iPad model that is listed and scroll down to "TV and Video" section. This section will confirm if your iPad model will support HDR and Dolby Vision.

We hope this information is useful. Best of luck.
