Apple Watch not working after iPhone update

My iPhone updated last night and now my Apple watch doesn't work. I have tried updating the watch and it doesn't work. I have unpaired the watch and phone and when it goes to pair back up it says you have to install the update on the watch using your phone. But that gets back into the same cycle of the watch not updating.
