Phone number not showing as an option on iMessages but it is on Apple ID

I have just moved from Telstra to Vodafone in Australia. This was Friday. Although my phone number appears on my Apple ID account it does not appear as an option to use for iMessage.


Turned off, logged out, iMessage on and off, WIFI on, WIFI off. Pretty much everything else listed on the forums but nothing seems to work.


Any ideas gratefully received.

I found the problem. Settings > phone > My Number …… it was empty. Filled it in and iMessage had the number available.
