Upgrading MacOS

I wanted to upgrade my MacBook Pro to the latest MacOS supported by it's hardware (i.e High Sierra). But I am confused whether it's ok to upgrade by using another admin user on it

Important:

Always Backup First: Prior to any software installation(i.e. upgrades), be certain to make a backup of your Mac using iCloud or your computer. That way you can have something to restore tour Mac from, should anything go wrong with the installation. Be certain to use an external hard drive of at least 1.5 your Mac's internal storage, assuring you have enough backup storage.
