ios14.6 - Phone stuck in Dark Mode

My phone suddenly switched to dark mode and I can't get it back to light and true tone. I have tried to change the setting in Display and Brightness over 20 times. Also, I rebooted the phone. It feels like a software bug. Has someone come across this? It has been such a pain for the last 24 hours ... Ravi

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. We understand that you're having an issue disabling Dark Mode for your iPhone. We'd like to ask a few questions about your device to help us determine the best solution.

When you say you rebooted the iPhone, did you perform a standard or forced restart?

Restart your iPhone

Force restart your iPhone

Do you recall making any changes to your iPhone shortly before this issue appeared? This could include installing a new app or updating the software, etc.
If you go to Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size > Smart Invert, do you see the slider is in the ON position? If so, does disabling this help?
