Apple Watch battery

My Apple Watch (version 7.5) is less than a year old, yet the battery only lasts a few hours. I have repaired it. That actually seems to have made things worse. I turned off many/most of the notifications. Pointless to have a really expensive watch that can’t last a day. Really disappointed with my watch. Any suggestions?

To understand Apple Watch performance and its relation to your battery, see:

Apple Watch Battery and Performance - Apple Support

“Battery life” is the amount of time your device runs before it needs to be recharged. “Battery lifespan” is the amount of time your battery lasts until it needs to be replaced. Maximize both and you’ll get the most out of your Apple devices, no matter which ones you own. See the "Tips for Apple Watch" section in:

If the battery drains too fast after an update, see all the replies to:

Battery Drain since watchos 7.4 - Apple Community

FWIW, in some cases, unpairing the watch, completely erasing it, then pairing and restoring the backup will resolve the battery draining issue after an update. Also, some people have found that simply waiting a few days after an update resolves the battery draining problem.

I had this problem too. My watch battery was discharging totally within just a 3 or 4 hours. It started right after I got a new 24" iMac. With the new iMac I could allow the Apple Watch, which I have had for 6 months with no battery discharge problems, log me into the iMac automatically. Very cool. But when my Watch battery started tanking in the afternoon and particularly at night, I disabled the login feature. To disable it, do this on the Mac:

System Preferences -> Security & Privacy -> General -> [and uncheck the box] "Use your Apple Watch to unlock apps and your Mac".

It has only been a few days, but that seems to have solved my Watch battery problem. My iMac is in my bedroom and I always put it in sleep mode before I go to bed. Seems like maybe my Watch goes into some search mode looking for my iMac. Don't know for sure, but it's worth a try.
