Has anyone figured out a way to sync calendars and contacts since 14.4?

I keep getting reminders to update to 14.6 and I'm afraid to or I'll no longer be able to sync my iphone and ipad to PC. So basically I'm stuck and missing any helpful new downloads and I don't understand why this feature has been removed. There was a lot of talk about it in April but I saw no solutions or explanations from Apple, or the responses from community.

Can anyone help me, I'm afraid I'm going to miss an important appointment due to the removal of this feature if I upgrade. I do not want to use iCloud as they OWN everything on there once you give it to them (pages, pictures, etc...). I had to go into iCloud and download MY pics individually to put them on my computer because there was no way to transfer them to my PC where I want them.

Please help or aim me in right direction. Thanks
