I can’t use my apple gift card to buy in game currency

I'm trying to buy an in-app currency with my iTunes gift card (which is $40j but when I attempt to purchase the currency, it sends me to "Verification Required- Before you can make purchases you must go to Settings > iTunes & App Store > Apple ID and verify your payment information." After hitting 'continue' under the pop-up, it sends me to the Manage Payments page, which shows my $40.If I press on the gift card, my only other option is to add another gift card, or add funds. It's acting as if I don't own the $40, and it'd be a shame if I can't use it. And the thing I would like to but is only $20. Plz help

It sounds like you're unable to make an in-app purchase using your Apple ID balance, correct? We'd love to provide some information.

Are you experiencing issues using your Apple ID balance to make any other purchases, or are you only running into an issue when trying to make the in-app purchase? Are you using these steps to try and make the in-app purchase? Buy additional app features with in-app purchases and subscriptions
