Adding an iMac monitor
I just bought a 2021 iMac 27” to replace my 2011 iMac 27” and I’d like to use the older one as a second display. How can I do that?

Sorry to hear that! I would think Apple would know that there are many iMac users who would want to use their old iMac as a 2nd monitor rather than trade it in (especially since the trade-in value is a ridiculously low $240). Guess I’ll give it to a friend or sell it on eBay!
Hi tromploy,
Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
Sorry, you cannot. Your output (source) Mac needs to be 2019 or earlier, running macOS 10.15 Catalina or earlier.
