Mirroring 2nd Monitor

I am trying to mirror my macbook onto an external display but still keep my macbook open to use the mouse and keypad. Currently the 2nd monitor is an extension of my desktop and not . I mirroring. I am looking in the display options with Big Sur but don't see an option to mirror screens.

Screen Mirroring Monterey Not Working (from Menu Bar) I have a new Macbook Pro running Monterey. When plugging in an external monitor via hdmi, the "screen mirroring" option in the top menu bar doesn't list my monitor as a mirroring option. I AM able to mirror it when going through the system preferences > displays > display settings, but of course, I want to be able to mirror / extend my monitor quickly without having to do all this. Any help out there?

Dual Display When connecting your MacBook Pro to dual monitors, is it possible to have one monitor mirror my MacBook, and the other extend the screen? Thank you!
