why can't I log in to britbox on apple tv app?

I have BritBox on my Apple TV set top box. On Apple TV app (any device) I can't login to BritBox. It only allows for new subscription. Why?

If you are using the standalone BritBox App on your Apple TV set top box, then you would need to use the stand alone App on any other device you want to access it.

The BritBox channel inside the Apple TV App is a separate subscription to the actual stand alone App and they cannot be used interchangeably.
