Watch green exercise ring

Why doesn’t my watch record my full exercise to close the green ring? I walk on the treadmill for 30 minutes. My watch records the activity, the mileage, my heart rate and everything, except the full exercise time. After a 30 minute workout it will only record 8 minutes of exercise.

Why does the watch not record workout minutes while you are outdoor walking? I’m having the issue of the workout app not recording my minutes of walking while it is in use. I keep having to adjust it on my wris and it still does it. Why does the watch not record workout minutes while you are outdoor walking?
