Just recently I have noticed that when I get a text my phone does not make sound although I have a sound assigned for text messages. I have updated my IOS to to 14.6 it is really annoying as sometimes I get an alert and sometimes I don’t.

We'd like to help you find the best solution for your notification sound. If this happens with all applications, check to see if the silent switch on the side of the phone is switched when this happens. If this is not, and only happens with this one application, To start, try setting the alert to a different sound to see if that helps: Use notifications on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support
