no text sound
My phone has quit alerting me by sound when I receive a text I have checked all of my settings, what am I missing?

Hello kathie6543, If you have your Settings > Messages > Notifications > Sounds - the way you want them then check to make sure switch on the upper left side of device (above your volume buttons) is in the forward position not the back for silent. Also check your Focus settings for Do Not Disturb. You can get to the Focus by sliding your finger down from the top right of screen to bring up your Control Center.
