No sound when receiving iPhone text messages

You may have notification sounds for text messages off, to fix that issue please follow these steps below.

Go to Settings > Notifications > Scroll down to Messages > then make sure sounds are on. and the box is checked green.

Also make sure your ringer is not off Silent, if it is the way you can tell is if on the left side of your iPhone the switch on the top is red and that means your ringer if off.

Like many others on this forum I am not getting text sounds when a text comes in. I get them from fedex but not personal phones. I have checked the settings and sound is turned on and a ring tone selected. How to fix?

I’m having the same issue. It goes off for spam or unknown numbers but not any of my contacts. My phone is not on silent, do not disturb, and I have set a ringtone for notifications. This is becoming an annoyance.
