Turn off find my iphone

I am messaging on behalf of my father’s iPhone. His phone no longer turns on as of yesterday, and he needs to turn off the ‘find my iPhone’ feature in order to process a refund of his phone. Today is the last day the phone is under warranty so I need this done ASAP.

I have tried to long onto his iCloud using my laptop but it’s sending a two-factor authentication code to his phone but he is unable to see the code as the phone does not switch on.

Please help!

Hi Fiona,

Please see this link for a guide on how to receive a code from a trusted device (this may involve putting the SIM card into another phone): https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT204974 - Specifically, Receive a code from Settings on your trusted device.

Then this link: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/icloud/mmfc0eeddd/icloud - to remove the device from iCloud by using your browser.

I hope this helps.
