No. The 3.5mm audio jack on the M1 Mac mini is an audio output only - for wired earphones/headphones. It cannot be used to input audio to the mini.
However, if you google the term "Mac M1 audio input USB-C" your results will include many input/output adapters that are compatible with the M1 Mac mini. This is one example from Amazon: Sabrent USB Type-C External Stereo Sound Adapter for Windows and Mac.
There are many very capable interfaces starting at a level as above and increasing in capability, quality and price to match.

Your earphone is advertised as not having a microphone. Any combo wired headset that integrates a mic will work out of the mini’s headphone port. I recommend Apple https://www.apple.com/shop/product/MNHF2AM/A/earpods-with-35-mm-headphone-plug
I use apple that i get with older iphone, akg from samsung s9 phone also working. I have bouth adapter that separates TRRS to TRS and connected external lavelier mic and speakers and they both working flavlesly.
I use this for audio and video calls.
To answer your question, the headphone port can work with a microphone when used with an analog headset.
Take care.
Agree there’s ambiguity, but in the Apple world, a headphone port always includes mic. You won’t find an Apple product without.
Indeed, yes. You aren’t the first one, won’t be the last either. Lots of journalists stated mic support didn’t exist in their mini 2018 reviews, USB was the only way, and were quoted here authoritatively (until I came along that is 😁)
It will, correct.
Yes.... i use wired headphones on 3.5mm headphone jack with microphone.

Have you tried a 3.5mm phone headphone/mic with the Mac mini 3.5mm headphone jack? The specs make no mention of mic input on that jack, but mic input does work with a 2018 Intel Mac mini, and it's specs also don't mention mic input.
Thank you all for discussing and commenting here. I would like to let you know that I have bought this today. It has a 3.5 mm and USB jack as well and it working fine with MAC mini M1 2020.

That earphone say "without Microphone". Have you tried wired iPhone earphones?
The mini doesn’t come with a built-in mic, you’re limited by what’s connected to the headphone port.
Hi Malcolm J. Rayfield,
I don't try any headset with a microphone yet. I am going to buy a good quality headphone with a microphone. Before that, I just wanted to know that anyone is using any wired headset with the new mac mini for video calling/meeting. I already have this earphone,

but it's not working as a microphone(audio input), only works the audio output.
I don't have wired iPhone earphones.
My existing one is working with an HP laptop. Somewhere on the internet, I found that if any earphones don't have a built-in microphone, the built-in microphone from the laptop will be used. So maybe even there is no microphone in my existing earphone, I was able to do a meeting with that.
