Movies missing from Home Sharing library in Apple TV app

On my iPad and iMac, if I access my home sharing library in the TV App, a few movies do not appear. They all DO appear in the Computers app on Apple TV. My Home Sharing is handled with iTunes on a Mac Mini running Sierra. The movies that are missing were purchased by a family member, but I downloaded them and added them to the Mini's library. Other movies done the same way, and purchased by the same family member, do appear. All devices are using the same Apple ID, and all of the movies are in the Mini's library, and are downloaded. I have tried logging out then in again, to no avail. It is also curious that if I search for the missing movies in the TV app, it recognizes that they are in my library. Since I can get to them on the Apple TV, this isn’t critical, merely puzzling and somewhat irritating. Is this a bug or just an anomaly?

Just wanted to report that I just upgraded to Big Sur today, and the TV app in this version of macOS does show ALL movies that are in my Home Sharing library. So this seems to be an OS-specific quirk.

Same problem here, and every bit as confusing. For example, on my MBP where I have my TV library, I have a mixture of movies I purchased directly from Apple, movies my wife purchased directly, and a number of old movies from DVDs. None of my wife's movies show up on ATV any longer (they did until a week or so ago), only some of my DVD-ripped movies show up (LOTR2 and LOTR3, but not LOTR1, all ripped at the same time) and some of my purchased movies no longer appear. This appears to be the same when accessing Home Sharing on my iPhone or iPad. The Library area in TV on iPhone and iPad contains a similar, but different, set of movies, even more confusing.

All of my devices are current OS-wise.

Rebooting all devices, reauthorizing, restarting apps; none of it makes any difference.

This seems to happen with Home Sharing about every 6 months or so, where someone at Apple "fixes" that feature so that it no longer works. Sigh.
