When I open a Terminal window I can do ls and see my user files, but I cannot do
ls <directory name>
of
cd <directory>
when I do
who am i
it gives me "sue" which is the directory that shows in the prompt:
sue ~$
so it's not that I'm the wrong user.
Give Terminal Full Disk Access in Security & Privacy System Preferences.
I can't remember if it asks for permission to access your files and folders. If it did, you can just try checking the box next to Terminal under Files & Folders instead of Full Disk Access.
Thanks Barney, but I'm not sure how to do that.
When I go to overall System Preferences Terminal isn't on app list in Privacy and there doesn't seem like a way to add an app.
When I go to Preferences on Terminal nothing in General, Profiles, Window Groups or Encodings seems to apply.
