It is been working just fine since Christmas, so it was set up correctly. The other day, I couldn’t connect to it, but Siri would respond when I said, “Hey Siri.” When I couldn’t get it to connect, I removed it, thinking I could just reconnect. Now the HomePod will not connect to my Home app.
You have to set it up again if you removed it.

Update your iOS device and the HomePod as well
