Battery charging on macbook air is erratic

Not sure what the "True" problem is but I can charge my MacBook Air 1 out of 100 times, purchased a new adapter, to no avail, is it the battery or the module that controls the charging?

If your MacBook Air has Intel Processor, resetting SMC could solve the problem.

If it doesn't help, try to check your MacBook Air with Apple Diagnostics if it reports battery or charger related error.
