Subscriptions bought through Apple TV hardware

Why can't I play content from my subscriptions (bought through Apple TV hardware) on my Mac mini using the Apple TV+ software. It wants me to subscribe, but I already have a paid subscription.

Mac mini, macOS 11.2

not sure if your problem was resolved since my post is marked as such but i just tested it on my mac mini catalina and it works fine on macos, ipad, iphone and appletv
