Unable to verify the identity of the server

This may be due to a trust certificate. Try the steps from Change the trust settings of a certificate in Keychain Access on Mac which may resolve this.

I contacted apple support. They found that the issue was actually malware. I had the same error message. We used malwarebytes to remove the malware and life is now good! This may or may not help.

That worked for me, to scan and remove malware. used Malwarebytes.

Malwarebytes also fixed my issue.

I logged in just to thank you, Malwarebytes did help me get my app store and itunes to work again.

Hi there - I'm having the exact same issue, and the solution offered is not detailed enough.

I am a DJ and at present am unable to sync my iTunes library to my DJ software, as I cannot log in to iTunes.

Please can you help?

This issue is also present on Catalina 10.15.7 as well, my iMac has not been syncing to iTunes Store for a week now and the App Store also does not function either, tried updating, fixing trust certificates, and nothing worked. Can you please give us a more detailed explanation?

Wow… it worked! Just wondering what could’ve caused this to begin with. It all started after upgrading to Big Sur. 🤦🏻‍♂️
