Hello, my phone screen is smashed and cant see anything anymore. I am covered by apple care. The Best Buy option is a lot closer than the apple store...will they typically be able to help me on the spot liek an apple store would? Or should I only go to an apple store for this serious of a repair? Thanks.

Since Best Buy is an Apple Authorized Service Provider they should be able to repair your device. For most minor repairs these stores can fix your device, although for more complex repairs they may just send it off to Apple on your behalf.
I would check with Best Buy and get some more info!

AppleCare does not cover physical damage.
No one here can answer if Best Buy has the supplies or personnel on hand to repair your device immediately.
