Trading in 21" iMac- -received packing box but it's simply a large box with a piece of cardboard, a return label and nothing else to protect the iMac- are we meant to ship it back with the original box or is there a magical way to keep the computer safe in a bare box?

If you have the original box with the styrofoam, put it in there and then put that into the plain box.Use bubblewrap, peanuts, or paper to fill in the empty spaces and to protect the box. Make sure it does not move around inside the box.
