Big sur update 11.4

After updating my Mac book air 2020 to big sur 11.4 I can no longer use my photo Library (on shuffle) as a screensaver. I have to move all my photos into a separate folder just so I can use them as a screensaver. This has never happened prior to this and is so inconvenient to me as it’s much easier to just click photo library. Has this happened to anyone else and if so how do I fix it?

when I click on my photo library it just comes up with “no photos”

Open the Photos app, click on Photos in the menubar and click on Preferences, go to General.

Look at Library Location, check that the photos library you want to use for Screensaver is set as

system library click on the Use as system library if the button is 'live'

if it is greyed out it is already being used as the system library.
