At what percent should the Magic Mouse 2 be charged?

I got the new Magic mouse 2 with the lighting cable. No more bastteries to waste is a good thing. but have a question it does not say it in booklet but when is the best time to charge it at what percent should it be charged? Also how long does a charge last? I have ben charging it when it hits 80 % but fell maybe I need to run it all the way down if I do how long will it take to charge then? There is no way to use it cause of the charging port on bottom but the new keyboard I got as well as the port on the back and can use it plugged in no problem with that. I love getting rid of the AA batteries. Just some info needed cause booklet no info in it.

Thank you

Frank

I watch the charge level of my Magic Mouse 2 from the menu bar Bluetooth icon. When it gets down to 10%, I recharge it while I am sleeping. I also happen to have the extended Magic Keyboard, and I can charge it with the lightning cable while still in use, and again, view its updated charge levels from the Bluetooth panel.

With heavy usage, I don't have to recharge these devices more than every two weeks (or longer).

Hi. Yes shame about the connection to the mouse! You can charge whenever - personally mine probably gets down to about 20% and then I charge up. I use it with an iMac late 2015 21.5, it seems to last ages before it needs charging (I use the Magic keyboard in same manner) but I expect to depends on how much you use it. I always take it back up to 100% and just check levels through the bluetooth icon on menu bar. Regards

In System Preferences > Bluetooth panel, there is a checkbox at the bottom offering to place the Bluetooth icon on the menubar. Then, you can click that icon and reveal your Apple device's Bluetooth connectivity and charge status.

On Big Sur, the first paragraph still works, or, you can still view your Apple device's Bluetooth charge percentage by visiting the control center icon on the menubar, rolling over the Bluetooth icon in it, and then clicking it to reveal the current Bluetooth device status.

Thts is what I wanted but cannot download big sur. My iMac is late 2012. But still how long do they last the charge?

Thanks anyway

I have several where I am using bluetooth mouse/keyboard combinations on Catalina. With all day, daily use, the mouse charge gets low after several weeks, the keyboard lasts about twice as long as the mouse. If you don't want to worry about it, you can simply charge the mouse overnight once a week (say, every Sunday night) and the keyboard maybe once a month, or simply for a few hours the day after the mouse has been charged (you can use the keyboard while it is charging).
