kernel_task does a lot of important things. It is part of the foundation of OSX and OSXI. Are you having issues. or was the high usage an incidental finding? If there are problems, please post your observations so we can see if anything suggests a known issue.


The Apple article you came from talks about the computer is running hot. If heat is an ongoing issue, please see this:
