Problem with iPad Pro m1 12.9" 2021-screen issue

Suddenly this row of lights appeared on the middle of my screen. Does anybody else have that?

How do I solve this? I already tried restarting, and it appears on all brightness levels and in all apps.

That looks like part of the mini LED array showing through.

Search online to locate and call contact your nearest, “local” Apple Store location to try/attempt to make an appointment to get your new iPad Pro diagnosed and options provided.

If you have had this iPad for less than 14-days, you can return this iPad to Apple for another brand new unit.

OR, failing that,

Contact Apple support via the contact support link located at the upper right hand corner of every Webpage of these Apple support communities.

Use the Hardware Repair and Device performance support categories.

OR

by installing and using the Apple Support app found in the iOS App Store.

As a first step, you should attempt a forced-restart of the iPad. As the the backlight array is software controlled, a restart may resolve the problem:

  • On an iPad with a Home button: Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
  • On other iPad models: Press and quickly release the volume up button, press and quickly release the volume down button, then press and hold the top button. When the Apple logo appears, release the button.

Next, ensure to report the issue using Apple’s feedback channel. This is essential as all feedback responses are logged and collated - and where patterns are recognised, escalated to the appropriate Engineering team(s):

If the restart does not resolve the issue, you need to contact Apple Support. Use the Get Support link (also found at top-right of this any every page in the Apple Support Community pages) - or use the excellent Apple Support App:

https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/apple-support/id1130498044

The Apple Support App links directly to your account and device details.

Finally, please return here and share any information that you may glean from Apple Support - as this may help others that encounter this specific issue.

Hi, I have the same problem (12.9 M1 iPad Pro), although my row of lights is on the far left (or top, depending on orientation, right under the Face ID cameras). I haven’t seen anyone else mention this particular issue. I’ve seen this row of lights light up a couple times before very briefly, but didn’t think twice since it went back to normal, although now it is stuck on and just as you said, restarting or adjusting brightness levels, etc. doesn’t help.

Did you find any further information on the problem?
