Document App Crashing

This isn’t a question but rather a solution for, in my case, the Documents app continually crashing. Actually, it may be the solution for any app that continually crashes.

After weeks of searching online, 16 emails back and forth to the developer, I found no solution. But I did yesterday.

I just upgraded a couple months ago from a 5s to a 12. I’m still learning all the features, so when the developer asked if I had updated my phone I said it has the current update. What I didn’t realize until now is that Apple did away with update notifications on the Settings app.

So you now have to keep checking to see if there’s an update available. Personally, I don’t think that was a smart move on Apple’s part.

I did the back up/sync and update and when done, I held my breath and tried opening the app and it didn’t crash.

Since I was unaware of this change Apple made, maybe there are others that could benefit knowing this.

I hope this helps someone out there who’s having an app crash.
