I changed my apple ID password and now sms texts not working

I changed my Apple ID password because of a security issue and ever since then my phone isn't receiving texts from my friends that don't have iPhones and I cant send them any messages either. The messages don't even have that red exclamation point saying it wasn't sent (not on my phone or my friends' phones) it just looks like the message was sent with no issue and neither party is notified that there is a problem. Please help this is SO frustrating!!!

Messages going to friends with non-iOS devices are SMS, and they are controlled by your carrier. While the act of changing your Apple ID password should not affect this, you will need to contact your carrier to have them check your account.
