can't verify caldav server

this was an apparently an unresolved issue in an early discussion. I had the same issue. Tech Support had me do a "Safe Boot" by restarting holding the shift key. Shut down again and do a normal boot. Problems seems to have resolved itself. She suggested rebooting twice a week, which I had not been doing but will start now.

iMac, macOS 10.12

A caldav server is a calendar server for Apple's Calendar application. This website has an excellent overview of it:


https://www.webdavsystem.com/server/creating_caldav_carddav/creating_caldav_server/


If the problem is with your iCloud account backup of your calendar, there have been a few occasional iCloud outages that could have created such an issue. Look at:


https://www.apple.com/support/systemstatus/


To make sure your issue is not with your connection to the iCloud server.
