Just started to use Apple Music.
Works well on my M1 MacMini
Ideally I would like to manage it from my iPad.
I installed iTunes Remote.
However: I only seem to have access to the local library on the MacMini, not to all the online Apple Music content.
Suggestions?

As explained: it seems that those steps are not full proof: M1 MacMini with latest macOS, iPad Pro 2020 latest iPadOS:
it you get ‘connecting to library’ - a restart of Mac and iPad does not resolve it nor reinstalling the remote app
only enable home sharing resolves this.
however the iTunes remote app is limited in functionality as I would like to use the new Hi Res formats available through Apple Music and play back on my HiFi setup with audiophile DAC attached to the MacMini.
iTunes remote only allows access to locally stored music on the Mac.
I hope this gets resolved soon as I now need to resort to a VNC connection from my iPad to manage the Music app on my Mac.
I have a headless mac as my music server.
I setup two user accounts on there so as to have two running instances of Apple Music: one for my local music and one for my Apple online music (hi-res lossless).
I can see both libraries on my itunes remote app on my iPad/iPhone, thanks to music sharing.
I can actually start the hi-res lossless online Apple Music music remotely from the remote app, it would play through the hdmi port of the mac connected to my AVR acting as a dac - audio midi setup set on 24 bit 96 khz.
The iTune remote app cannot see “all” the apple music online content. It can see the online hi-res albums/music that you add to your library. Once added to your library, you can see them in your library on the remote app and launch the playing remotely.

To add Music to your library, you have to use the Music app on your computer or your iPhone/iPad
