Problems with MacOs and Safari. A few days ago I noticed that some video content is not working. Youtube works ok, but for example, Udemy courses are with the black screen even the voice can be heard. Also, some online TV is not showing anything but a black screen. I tried Chrome, and it works ok. This seems to be only with Mac. The same site with video content works with iPad. Any ideas?

No mention regarding added VPNs AV Software - so if that is correct ?
Experiment with Safari >> Preferences >> Advance tab and at very bottom Enable Show Developers Menu. Then go to the problematic website and in the Menu for Developer change how the website sees Safari to say Firefox, or Chrome and Test if the videos play niece. What we are attempting to see is if " trick the website " to thinking Safari is another Browser will work or not.
Their Video Codecs using to encode the videos maybe unknown or incompatible with Safari in Big Sur as you are not experiencing the same affect in another Browser.

What has changed since the issue has appeared. Any Updates to the OS say, Big Sur 11.3.1 to Big Sur 11.4 ? Any AntiVirus, VPNs, Disk Cleaners been added / installed and run on the computer ?
I have this problem as well, since upgrading to macOS Big Sur (11.5) in the last few days and using Safari (14.1.2)
I'm now using Chrome to watch the Udemy classes.
That may be as you told. The only strange thing is that this started just a few days ago. Earlier I had no problems when using Safari.
I think it might be with the latest OS update. I have Big Sur 11.4. I noticed some minor changes in Safari already. For example, the reader view seems to be as default for most pages (if not all).
No, it did not change anything. I still can hear the voice but no video.
Then, it would appear, the issue is beyond what I can offer as a possible solution apart from using the Other Browser that is known to function.

Having this same problem after a recent update - thought I was going insane. Definitely appears to be something Apple has done
Maybe I did not get what exactly I should do in Develop menu.
If you mean that what I marked here, then it opens with Chrome and works normally.
