Airpods Pro Case Battery Won't Show In Widgets or Anywhere else

Hello! I've just bought Airpods Pro today and connected them without any problems to my iPhone. I'm using an iPhone 8 Plus and just hadn't done the latest update yet.

I learned that we can view our earbuds and case batteries from the widgets, and selected that. Upon first connection, I was able to view everything: Left and right buds and the case. However, the case battery information disappeared soon after.

I read 3 different suggestions, none of them worked:

-One suggested that opening the case makes the battery information show up again. I opened the case (with the earbuds in my ears). However, this didn't make the case battery show up in the widgets.

-Another person suggested that this is because when we use the small text size, the widgets mess up (this was on reddit). So I didn't use the listing format that'd require texts. It didn't work either.

-One last suggestion (here) was disconnecting the device, making iPhone "forget the device", put the earbuds in the case, close it, wait about 15-20 seconds, open again and reconnect. This also worked upon the first connection (the battery information of the case showed up on the widget at first); however it disappeared later on.

Thinking it might be an update issue, I updated my phone. I'm on 14.6 now. It didn't change anything, unfortunately.

Also, the earbuds don't show up as left or right anymore in the widget; they just appear as one. This is not that important, since it shows up at least; but I'd like to be able to view the case battery as well.

I wanted to ask it to Apple directly; but upon entering the serial number, I got the "It looks like your product is not covered for complimentary technical support." warning. Again, I just bought these today. And it's from a multinational electronics shop. I hope there isn't a problem. Do you think I need to take these back?

I know it took too long, but I just wanted to explain in detail the things I've tried so far. If there's anyone that can help or inform me about these, I'd really really appreciate it!

(Alternatively, if there's any other way I can learn about case battery life except the widget, I can also accept that?)

Hello, vinniea22. Thank you for posting your question to the Apple Support Communities. We understand your situation and how you are missing some of the AirPod information from the iPhone battery widget. We’re happy to help you so that you can access this feature normally again.

To get started, we’d like to provide you with the following Apple Support article. This article explains the suggested steps to take when charging your AirPods, and checking the battery life:

Charge your AirPods and learn about battery life - Apple Support

According to the article above: “You can also check the charge status of your AirPods with charging case with the Batteries widget on your iOS device. The charge for your case appears only when at least one AirPod is in the case.”.

Following the instructions from the article, are you able to view the case battery level when at least one AirPod is inside the charging case?

We hope this information allows you to use the iOS battery widget as expected. Please reply back if you have any further questions.

Cheers!
