-1 missed calls, and disappearing apps

So today my iPhone 7 has started acting really strange.

At one point, I turned it on after it charged, and 4/5 home screen pages with apps on them were completely blank, and the app bar at the bottom of the screen was also blank. The apps were actually still there, I was able to tap on them despite them being "invisible" and showed the red notification bubbles from some apps. I attempted to restart and that seemed to fix the issue for now, however now, many apps are freezing heavily or completely crashing on startup.

I then got a call and went to pick it up, but the phone buzzed for a slit second and stopped, and nothing came up on the screen. When I unlocked it to check who called me and so I could call the person back, the contacts app had a -1 icon for missed calls, and freezes on startup.

I also am unable to delete any photos or videos, they "delete" and then pop right back up in the camera roll. I also cant connect the phone to my PC to download my photos from it in case I can't fix it, keeps giving me an error.

Bizarre, never had an iPhone behave on me this way.

Try and Force restart your iPhone 7 as described below:

Press and hold both the volume down button and the Sleep/Wake button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons. (DO NOT release Side Button when invited to Slide Power OFF).

If the above does not resolve the issue(s) then you will need to check the most critical points.

The first one is the amount of available free storage space on your iPhone 7. How much free storage space is left on your iPhone? If that is too low, then you will have issues such as those that you are describing.

The second is the battery health of your iPhone 7. Open Settings Battery Battery Health and let us know which percentage you see for Maximum Capacity. Also note what is written under Peak Performance. If your battery's Maximum Capacity shows a value of 80% or less, then it has gone through its lifecycle and therefore should be replaced, according to Apple.

Sounds like your iPhone storage could be used up. Or have less than 20-25% available storage so it causes your phone to start acting strange because it’s trying to keep up with everything you have saved and it’s everyday normal simple tasks. Try checking the iPhone storage in the settings and do some of the recommendations to optimize the storage, here’s the link for the steps: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201656

I hope this helps!
