Apple Pencil Damage

I bought apple pencil in Oct 2020. Less than a year, I started to notice there is magnet dust coming out from my pencil where the magnetic lock sits on the ipad. I tried to ignore it but now my pencil is not working properly. It is hard to detect and write things anymore. I had to put a lot of pressure while using and struggling a lot. I am so dissapointed purchasing my first apple product but having to face this kinf of faulty. How can I claim for warranty? Tried to search pencil product under service but weren't there. Since we on lockdown I can't reach any apple store near me.

That’s odd. Other than the user-replaceable Pencil tip, the pencil is a sealed item. There’s nowhere that anything could escape from the Pencil body.

The Pencil is covered by Apple’s standard one-year limited warranty. If it’s under a year old, just visit your local Apple Store - or contact Apple Support; defective Pencils are usually changed without quibble. If it’s more than a year old, sadly, Apple are unlikely to help.

That's what I thought so too. It is odd. If only I can show in an image. There are two tiny dots like a hole on two spot on the pencil where the magnets sits on the ipad. It is where those magnetic dust came out in dark grey color.

I called support from my country. Have to wait for the lockdown to end first and bring the pencil for Apple staff to examine before claiming for the warranty. It was from Oct 2020. Not even a year, quite dissapointed really.

Use the Get Support link - you will find an option to have Apple call you. Explain the problem.
