AirPods case makes a clicking sound

Whenever I apply pressure to the sides of my AirPod case (The top opening) I hear a click as in its moving. I’m sure it’s not a big deal I was just wondering if this is normal.

Hello sophie_1222,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities!

We understand that the case to your AirPods is making a clicking noise when closed. We’d like to help.

Did you recently notice the clicking? Or has it been ongoing?

Is there any accidental damage to the case? Has it been dropped?

Does the lid shut properly or does it feel loose?

If the case closes as expected and you hear the clicking noise only when applying pressure to the lid, this may not be a concern as it would not be advised to apply pressure like this. But to confirm, we would suggest contacting Apple Support directly to see if this is expected behavior or a possible concern. Here’s how to Get Support.

Take care.
