Target Display Mode

I have been using my old iMac (2013) as a monitor for my MacBook pro for almost a year. Yesterday it stopped making the connection when I pressed command, F2. I have restarted, unplugged, and replugged using different ports with no luck. The only thing that changed yesterday was internet issues with Atlantic BB - a new modem and setting up with a "5g" network. I wouldn't think the internet would have anything to do with it not connecting in Target Display Mode..

One other note is that some keys have not been working on the iMac wireless keyboard (numbers 1,2,3,4,5,6 and m). I had to change my password using the keyboard viewer. I cannot tell if the f2 key happened to stop working - sure seems odd after this long.

Can anyone offer some help?

Startup in Safe Mode followed by a normal restart.

Then open your Keyboard Viewer and test the keys on your keyboard.
