Hi there Cpat6d,

Thanks for joining us in Apple Support Communities. We understand you're unable to turn on Safari Suggestions in Settings > Safari because the option appears in gray and you can't select it. We're glad you're here, and we can provide some guidance.

To start, you'll want to clear the history and cookies from Safari with the steps in this link to see if that helps:

Clear the history and cookies from Safari on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch

If the issue persists, go to Settings > Siri & Search, and make sure Suggestions while Searching is turned on. You'll also want to take a closer look at Settings > Siri & Search > Safari to be sure all the options on that screen are enabled. Have a look at this link to learn more:

Change Siri settings on iPad

If that doesn't seem to help, let's go to Settings > Screen Time and check for any content or privacy restrictions that could be preventing you from changing your Safari Suggestions in Settings. This support article provides details about how to check for restrictions:

Use parental controls on your child's iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Also, you may find the information in the links below helpful:

We hope this helps. Don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any more questions.

Cheers.

Cpat6d,

We're glad to hear you're able to turn Safari Suggestions on and off again. Let's take a closer look at the issue with images not loading in Safari on your iPad.

Did you follow the steps in the first link we posted to clear the history and cookies from Safari?

Try working through the suggested steps in this support article, and let us know how it goes:

If Safari displays a blank page or quits on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If the steps in the link above don't help, does this seem to be happening when visiting specific websites? Is your iPad connected to a reliable Wi-Fi network with good signal strength? If so, and you connect to a different Wi-Fi network, does the issue persist?

Send over these details, and we'll take a closer look from there.

Take care.

I had done all the steps suggested prior to the replies. I never ask a question here until I have researched he problem. I am fairly technical and have been using Apple products since OS 7.1. Cleared cookies, etc multiple times; Settings > Siri & Search, and make sure Suggestions while Searching is turned on; and Settings > Screen Time is not turned on.

sephora.com images load in Safari on my iPhone X.

images not loading only happens with certain web pages using Safari. The one page is Sephora.com. These pages load when I use Firefox. I have a strong WiFi signal. I am not able to connect to another network w

When this problem occurs I just use Firefox but I should have to do that. I’ve only encountered this problem since iOS 14.6
