unknown error when logging into messages on Mac

I reset my password for my Apple ID and now I get this error message when I try to use the new combo with Messages on my laptop.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.4

Messages – Can’t log in.

Messages – Can’t log in 2.

Messages - If you can‘t sign in to your iMessage account or FaceTime on your Mac.
