I have sd cards that were read by my macbook pro and then a day later they are unreadable. Please help

I have used the sd card to record things and the device I sued to record did not have any issues. I then placed the sd card into a USB card reader and put it into my Macbook Pro. I was able to see the videos and photos for a day. The next day there were no more videos or photos. What happened? How do I get it back?

FCPX can see my SD card as a device but does not read it! I changed my MacBook Pro 2 weeks ago. I have been editing on FCPX for years and never had an issue. I did not change my camera nor did I change the format. All was working fine with my old MacBook Pro. What happens now is that I insert my SD card in the reader (new readers because the new MBP have no side SD card slot). I can see the content in Photos but not in FCPX. I tried more than one type of card reader so it's not the reader (at least I think) Am I missing something? I work on FCPX 10.4.9. Anybody have this issue? How did you fix it? Thank you Lionel

macbook air 2013 microsdxc card I have a MacBook Air 13" 2013. I also have a SanDisk microSDXC card I would like to view on this MacBook. There is no slot for it. How can I view pics and videos stored on card on this computer? Also, how can I transfer pics and videos from the computer to that SD card once I know where to put it? Thanks.
