Application or method to track, log and notify regarding internet connection.

Hello,

For some reason of late, my ISP has been experiencing frequent episodes of dropped connections. Most are very brief, some are minutes long. Historically this ISP has been very reliable.

I recently lost the device managing portion for my security service and had the vendor out to try to fix the issue. They attempted to correct the issue on two occasions two days apart. They could not get their hardware to connect and naturally concluded it was due to some internet hardware in the home (my cable modem or a switch). Through a bit of research (and time)m, I convinced them it was the ISP, which we were later able to verify with a call and sufficient questioning. Turned out what the ISP calls maintenance had been going on in our area for more than 72 hours. So the security technicians are rescheduling when the issue is resolved.

This got me to thinking, that there must be an easier way to make such discoveries. Is anyone aware of an application for the macOS that would track service integrity or outages? "Net Uptime Monitor" for windows appears to do this, but I cannot find a Mac alternative.

Thanks in advance for your input.
