Siri not detecting Speaker

I have a Bose Soundtouch 10 speaker with AirPlay 2 and recently added it to the Home app so I can use Siri to control music playback. However, whenever I try to ask Siri to play music to the speaker on my Macbook Air, it says it couldn't speak a speaker by that name, but Siri is able to detect and play music to the speaker on my phone. Any help would be awesome

Hi there s1njack,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you are trying to use Siri to control your AirPlay 2 speakers on your Mac. Are you able to use AirPlay to manually connect to your speaker? See how in this Bose help article: Using AirPlay with your SoundTouch speaker.

Are you able to use Siri for other things on your Mac? What about using Siri to control other Home accessories if you have them? Learn more here: Use Siri to control Home on Mac.

We hope this helps!

Hi again s1njack,

Thanks for that additional information. Since your Mac is able to use Siri for other applications and the speakers are able to work manually and works with the iPhone we know all of the components are working properly. Check your Mac Siri suggestion settings to make sure Siri is allowed to access Home. See how here: Ways to use Siri on your Mac.

We hope this helps!
