Apple watch series 1

I was given an apple watch and the owner forgot their passcode. I try and factory reset but I can't press and hold down on the screen. Nothing happens what do I do?

Locked Apple Watch not factory resetting Hi , I found an Apple Watch Series 5 44mm at work. The owner never came back for it . I tried guessing the passcode and locked it . I tried the steps to erase the whole thing but it just bring me to the Lock Screen again after the circle loading screen. Can someone please help me with this problem so I can now use the Watch?
