what is com.apple.quicklook.ThumbnailsAgent and why is it using more than half of my CPU?

Quicklook is the function that offers Finder built-in preview of any selected document in multicolumn Finder, or control-mouse click the file choosing the Quick Look menu, or File menu's Quicklook function. Previews in the Finder's Get Info window do the same thing. If you are Quick Looking a video or an unsupported format, it may cause the Finder to try to find the resources necessary to open the content, which would increase its resource use.
