i have a imac 24 m1 and a macbook air m1. i want to use macbook air as secondary screen on imac. how could i do?

How do I use a macbook air as secondary screen on imac?

These days I bought a imac24 and a macbook air.

I feel that the imac screen is a little small size. So, I want to macbook air as a secondary screen.

I know that sidecar is available between ipad and other Mac product.


imac and macbook have m1 chip.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 11.1

The support document linked at the the top of this page under "Related Articles" has a very specific listing of iMacs that could act as an external monitor for another Mac, and what Macs can serve as video sources for one of those supported iMac.


The last iMac that could support Target Display Mode was discontinues in Late 2014.
