MacBook Pro Camera "no video capture devices were found"

My 15inch MacBook Pro 2017's FaceTime camera stopped working and does not show up in the System Information either. Tried all usual methods including OS Reinstall.

Took to Apple Care and they advise a display change, costs almost $700/- Anyone with a similar issue who fixed the camera without a display swap? The laptop was not dropped or damaged. I used it for a video conference just one day before it failed. Could this be an OS issue or hardware failure?

with so many people facing issues with the display for such an expensive device, why does apple restrict display repair program for 13inch 2016 models only? when same hardware is used in 15 inch models from both 2016 and 2017?

Hi,

Following document could solve the issue.

If it doesn't help, try to check your built-in camera with Apple Diagnostics if it reports camera related error(NDC001, NDC003 to NDC006).
